The foreign partner of SBI Life Insurance, BNP Paribas Cardif has sold 5 crore shares of the company for Rs 2,889 crore to increase its public shareholding to 25% of its paid-up equity share capital on or before October 2, 2020. This sale has not undertaken as per the methods prescribed by SEBI for achieving the minimum public shareholding (MPS) Threshold.The average price of equity share during the sale was Rs 577.93 per equity share.On the other hand, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board has bought 2 crore shares at an average price of Rs 577.50 per shares.

India's first Fintech (Financial technology) start-up enabling payments via interoperable UPI(Unified Payments Interface) QR (Quick Response) codes, BharatPe notified its venture into merchant services by launching a new app UPI Bahi Khata that allows merchants to keep a track of their cash/credit (Udhar) sales customer wise, to request the accounts receivable from customers through SMS (Short Message Service) payment links or through WhatsApp and to record accounts that are payable to suppliers. The newly launched app also helps the merchants to network and collaborate with other BharatQR merchants near them to expand their businesses. The major features on BharatPe app for merchants are: UPI Khata (Ledger), Managing Supplier Bills, Cashback, Settlements and Refer and Earn.

Quikr has acquired Bengaluru-based secondhand goods marketplace Zefo, for INR 200 Crore to strengthen the sales of its pre-owned goods business. With this pre-owned product's market in India will reach USD 12-15 billion in the year 2020. Normally a pre-owned product's price can be as low as 30-60 percent of a new one. Zefo is an online marketplace for selling refurbished TVs, mobile phones and furniture.

India's education technology startup 'Dost Education' has bagged a $25,000 Next Billion Edtech Prize 2019. Two other startups, Ubongo (Tanzania) and PraxiLabs (Egypt), also won the award. Dost Education was awarded for its ability to empower parents to take charge of their child's early education by creating short, friendly audio content that is sent to them via their mobile phones. Because of this app low-income families need no longer send their children to primary school behind and without a chance to catch up.

Budget carrier Spicejet announced the signing of an initial pact for code share partnership with Gulf carrier Emirates on 22 April 2019. The partnership will allow the opening of new routes and destinations for passengers of the two airlines. Code-sharing allows an airline to book its passengers on its partner carriers and provide seamless travel to destinations where it has no presence.

Microsoft has reached a valuation of one trillion dollars for the first time after posting an increase in profits. It makes the software giant only the third publicly-traded company in history to reach the threshold after Apple and Amazon passed it in 2018. Microsoft's current valuation also means that it has again taken over Apple as the world's most valuable company.

Tractor-manufacturer Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) Ltd has signed an MoU with Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) to aid conservation of resources. Under the MoU, the association plans to jointly conduct agricultural workshops by involving TAFE's dealership network. The workshop would help spread awareness on the advantages of better maintenance and upkeep of the tractors, resulting in lesser fuel consumption and maximising productivity, among others.

Tesla has developed its 'largest power storage system in Asia' at Osaka train station in Japan to reduce energy demand and provide emergency backup power to trains in Japan. It was Launched in partnership with Kintetsu, a railway operator in Japan's Osaka. Tesla has installed 42 Powerpacks units at Osaka train station in Japan which will provide enough amount of energy to safely move a train and its passengers for up to 30 minutes to the nearest station if any power failure happens. This 7 megawatt-hours (MWh) system is not only the largest energy storage project in Asia, but also the fourth largest in the greater Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Flipkart-owned PhonePe, digital payments platform having over 150 million users in India is the first company to launch a special keyboard that will allow users to do transactions easily and securely while using their Android phone. The transactions include sending and requesting money, checking account balance and inviting friends and family to explore the PhonePe platform and use cases on any phone where a keyboard is required. PhonePe's keyboard aids in money transfer as well as offers the full functionality of a keyboard. The PhonePe's keyboard can be set up in 3 steps: Open the profile section on the PhonePe app and navigate to the User profile menu. User Profile menu lies in the top left corner of the PhonePe app. The user needs to scroll down to find a new option named 'Setup PhonePe Keyboard'. click on 'Setup PhonePe Keyboard', then select and enable the PhonePe keyboard. the user then needs to click on the PhonePe logo displayed on the keyboard to begin the transactions.

Saudi Aramco, a Saudi Arabian national petroleum and natural gas company, is in talks to acquire 25 percent stake in Reliance Industries' refining and petrochemicals businesses. However, both Aramco and Reliance declined to comment on the issue. Saudi Aramco also looks forward to invest in "West Coast Refinery and Petrochemical Project", India's largest oil refinery on the west coast in Maharashtra. The refinery project will be developed by three domestic oil marketing companies - Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum. The project is estimated to cost USD 44 billion.
