"Mukhyamantri Parivar Samman Nidhi" scheme was launched by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar inChandigarh. It is primarily meant for farmers of the state who cultivate on land with areas upto five acres and the families with an income of less than Rs. 15,000 per month. The scheme would provide a sum of Rs. 6,000 yearly and each family has to nominate a member who will be provided with this amount. The scheme involves two categories of beneficiaries-in the age group of 18 to 40 years and the in the age group of 40 to 60 years. The scheme provides insurance facilities of- Rs. 2 lakh on natural death, Rs. 2 lakh for accidental death, Rs. 2 lakh for permanent disability and Rs. 1 lakh for partial disability. Those who are registered under the Pradhanmantri Shram-Yogi Maandhan, then they could receive a pension of Rs. 3,000 per month after they turn 60, whose premiums will be funded by the government.

The National Institute of Open Schooling under the Ministry of Human Resources Development on May 7, 2019 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Maharashtra state government's National Health Mission of Public Health Department. The agreement aims to provide vocational programmes to the health service providers of the providers of the National Health Mission (NHM) through National Institute of Open Schooling. The key objective is to impart uniform structured and quality training to multipurpose health workers class lll, male health workers and community health workers followed by their assessment, evaluation and certification. The MoU will also enable certification of Secondary, Senior Secondary Vocational Education and Community Health Workers for ASHAs.

The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed in New Delhi a $26 Million Loan Agreement to provide additional financing for improving drainage infrastructure in Dibrugarh town of Assam under the ongoing Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program.

Rice Knowledge Bank-Assam, which is an agriculture web portal is dedicated to magnify knowledge on rice production technologies and techniques, best production practices and state agriculture facts, was launched under World Bank funded project - Agri-business and Rural Transformation (APART). This portal is the repercussion of efforts of Assam Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Services Society, Assam Agricultural University with technical assistance from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The motive behind this is to curtail the gap between research and on-field rice production practices for small-scale farmers in Assam.

The Centre banned Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir under the Unlawful Activities (Preventions) Act, 1967 for 5 years. Mizoram assembly passed a bill to bring back total prohibition of liquor in the northeastern state after four years. The state government decided to prohibit the manufacture, import, sale, and consumption of liquor for the common people for their general health. Earlier total prohibition was in force in Mizoram from 1997 to 2015.

Delhi government school teacher, Manu Gulati honored with the Martha Farrell award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment 2019 in the Most Promising Individual category with prize money of INR 1,50,000 for promoting gender quality and women's empowerment. She collaborates with America India Foundation's "Market Aligned Skills Training Program", through which she assists the training programs for beauticians, weavers, salesgirls, etc in Jalandhar in Punjab, Betul in Madhya Pradesh and Baramullah in Kashmir. Ola has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to support the latter's efforts in strengthening traffic infrastructure in the city. The partnership would see Ola 'share intelligent insights' that enable the Government to implement smart solutions to enhance 'mobility experience' in the city, an Ola release stated. The first pilot project proposed to be implemented under the MoU is the dynamic mapping of riding quality of various major roads in Hyderabad through the network of vehicles operating on the Ola platform.

Three of the Gujarat potato farmers sued by PepsiCo the company must pay compensation for the harassment they were subjected to even though the law is very clear on the subject. The three of the potato farmers sued by PepsiCo along with farmer union leaders and farmers' rights activists asserted that Indian farmers' seed freedoms were non-negotiable. The company has to pay us compensation for all the harassment we were put through even though the law is clear on the subject. The company had sued nine potato farmers in Gujarat, including five last year and four this year for allegedly buying seeds and selling potato of the FL 2027 variety registered by PepsiCo.

Karnataka government issued a circular, following the order of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, directing all schools in the state, including government, aided and unaided institutions, to limit the weight of a schoolbag which is not more than 10% of the child's weight. The weight of a bag of a student in Class 1 or 2 should not be more than 2 kg and these students should not be given any homework. For the students from Class 3 to 5, it can weigh between 2 and 3 kg. The weight increases accordingly, with the students of Class 9 and 10 are allowed to carry bags of weight 4-5kg. The third Saturday of every month should be followed as "No School Bag Day". Teachers are required to keep the students busy without any books or supplementary materials and indulge in activities like field visits, general knowledge clubs, art classes, indoor and outdoor games, abacus, dance classes and debates.
