Manoj Jhalani, Additional Secretary & Mission Director (NHM), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been conferred with the prestigious UN Interagency Task Force (UNIATF) award. He was awarded for his outstanding contribution towards prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and related Sustainable Development Goals. The ceremony will take place on 27th Sept in New York.

The National Selection Committee under the Women and Child Development Ministry, have finalised the names of 26 children for 'Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2019'. Maneka Gandhi is the Chairperson of the National Selection Committee. The award is conferred upon children for their bravery, social service, and exceptional achievement in the fields of innovation, sports, and arts.

Prema Gopalan, founder of Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP), was awarded the 8th Social Entrepreneur of the Year award, 2018, for her work in promoting women's entrepreneurship at the grassroots and ensuring rural livelihood. Working in the areas affected by global climate change, Gopalan has helped women farmers, entrepreneurs and grassroots business leaders, who are solving the problems of their communities through small businesses.

ASSOCHAM (The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India), which is one of the apex trade associations of India has conferred 'Non-Life Insurer of the Year Award 2019' to Bharti AXA General Insurance which is a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and French insurance giant AXA. The award has been awarded for its contribution to the non-life insurance sector during the recently-held Insurance Leaders Meet 2019 and Excellence Awards in Kolkata. This award recognizes efficacy, excellence and contribution in the insurance industry annually.

The State Bank of India's UK head Sanjiv Chadha has been honoured with the 'Freedom of the City of London' award in recognition of his contribution to promoting the bilateral relations. Sanjiv Chadha was nominated for the honour by Lord Mayor of London Peter Estlin and Sheriff Vincent Keaveny.

Indian Railways bagged 17 awards at the 'National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2018' held in New Delhi. Under 'transport' category, Indian Railways obtained 10 awards for the subsector railway station. Vidisha railway station in Madhya Pradesh won the first prize. Under 'building' category, Indian Railways got three awards for subsector Railway hospitals. Railway hospitals of Izzatnagar division won the first prize. Under 'institution' category, Indian Railways bagged four awards for subsector state PWD, CPWD and PHED. Passenger reservation system complex building of Secunderabad division won the first prize. The awards are given by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power to various institutions for adopting energy efficiency measures.

Dutch photographer Marsel van Oosten has won Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018. It was awarded by London's Natural History Museum. He got the award for his photo titled "The Golden Couple," which is the striking photo of a pair of endangered golden snub-nosed monkeys in central China's Qin Ling Mountains. Second place in the competition was awarded to Skye Meaker, 16, who won the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2018 award. The two winning images will be showcased in an exhibition featuring 98 other entries at the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, running from 19 October until 1 July 2019, by the Natural History Museum in London.

President Ram Nath Kovind approved Nao Sena (Gallantary) medal for the 6 women crew members of Indian Naval Sailing Vessel (INSV) Tarini, who circumnavigated the globe. Lt Cdr Vartika Joshi captained the 194-day mission. The mission started on 10th September 2017. Nao Sena Gallantary medals were also announced for marine Lt Cdr Anil Raina and Kunal Saini for anti-insurgency operations.

Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), the marketers of the popular Amul brand of milk and dairy products, was awarded the 'Marketer of the Year' award by the International Advertising Association of India (IAAI). The award was received by RS Sodhi, the Managing Director (MD) of GCMMF, on behalf of the 36 lakh milk famers and producers of Gujarat. Amul is the brand worth Rs 41,000 crore and is the biggest cooperative owned by 36 lakh farmers of Gujarat. Amul is not only known for its cooperative structure and farmer's faith, but is also known for its marketing and advertizing strategies.

Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for 2017 was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind to 42 artists in a ceremony held in New Delhi. Shobha Koser was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards 2017 under the category 'Kathak'.
