The French film on AIDS ?120 Beats Per Minute?, directed by Robin Campillo, has been awarded the ?Golden Peacock Award? for the best film at International Film Festival of India-2017 (IFFI) held in Goa. The Film?s Actor Nahuel Perez Biscayart won the Silver Peacock Award in the best actor male category.
Mohamad Al Jounde (16 years old) from Syria was awarded the ?Children?s Peace Prize-2017? for his efforts to ensure the rights of Syrian refugee children. He set up a school with the help of his family in a Lebanese refugee camp which provides education to 200 children.
Two Indians Bharat Vatwani and Sonam Wangchuk are among the winners of this year?s Ramon Magsaysay Award 2018, regarded as the Asian version of the Nobel Prize.
