The curved surface area of a cylindrical pillar is 264 sq m and its volume is 924 m 3. The ratio of its diameter to its height is?

Explanation:

Given that , 2πrh = 264
and πr2h = 924
∴ ( πr2h) / (2πrh) = 924 / 264 = 7/2
⇒ r/2 = 7/2
⇒ r = 7
∴ d = 2r = 14 m
Also, 2 x (22/7) x 7 x h = 264
⇒ h = 264 / 44 = 6
∴ d/h = 14/6 = 7/3 = 7 : 3
