₹ 710 were divided among A, B and C in such a way that A had ₹ 40 more than B and C had ₹ 30 more than A. How much was C's share?

Correct Answer: ₹ 270

Explanation:

Let B gets x.
Then, A gets (x + 40) and C gets (x + 70).
According to the question,
x + 40 + x + x + 70 = 710
⇒ 3x = 710 - 110 = 600
∴ x = 600/3 = 200
∴ C's share = 200 + 70 = ₹ 270
