Find the length of a bridge, which a train 130 metres long travelling at 45 km an hour, can cross in 30 seconds?

Correct Answer: 245 m

Explanation:

Speed of the train = 45 km/hr = 45 x (5/18) = 25/2 m/sec
Let the length of the bridge be L metres
∴ (L + 130) / (25/2) = 30
⇒ L + 130 = 15 x 25
L = 375 - 130 = 245 metres
