If 1 is added to the denominator of a traction, the fraction becomes 1/2. If 1 is added to the numerator of the fraction, the fraction becomes 1. The fraction is :

Explanation:

Let the fraction be x/y. Then, x /(y+1) = 1/2


=> 2x - y = 1  ..........(i)and 


(x + 1) / y = 1  => x - y =  1 .......(ii)


 Solving (i) and (ii), we get :  x  = 2, y = 3. Hence, the required fraction is 2/3..
