The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is a foundation created through a collective initiative led by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was set up on 10 November 1999 in Lausanne, Switzerland, as a result of what was called the "Declaration of Lausanne", to promote, coordinate and monitor the fight against drugs in sports. Since 2002, the organization's headquarters have been located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The World Health Organization is a specialized agency of the United Nations that is concerned with international public health. It was established on 7 April 1948, Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.
Dr Soumya Swaminathan has been appointed the deputy director general for programmes (DDP) of World Health Organisation (WHO). She also holds a key position as secretary in the department of health research, ministry of health and family welfare.
