M. Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Hyderabad Police, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana State. He took charge on 12 November 2017.
Reddy succeeded the first DGP of Telangana State Anurag Sharma, who retired from the service on 11 November 2017. Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police Additional Commissioner V.V. Srinivasa Rao has been made in-charge of Hyderabad Commissioner of Police. Anurag Sharma has now appointed as the advisor to Home Department by the Telangana State Government.

Sharjah was the first emirate in UAE to establish a formal school and a library. It was also the first emirate to house many cultural institutions like the Emirates Publishers Association and the Emirates? writers Union. Sharjah is the 19th city to become World Book Capital. It is preceded by Conakry in 2017 and Athens in 2018.
