India emerged as winners in the team event of First Mallakhamb World Championship was held in Shivaji Park in central Mumbai in which India became the winner. Kudo International Federation India (KIFI) has been provisionally recognised as National Sport Federation by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The recognition shall be granted if it complies with the provisions of National Sports Development Code of India, 2011 and displays information on the website according to the ministerial guidelines. The recognition would provide a major chance to KIFI Association for promoting and developing Kudo in India.

Steel Authority of India's Hockey Academy wins 115th Aga Khan Gold Cup tournament by beating Army XI Danapur by 2-1 at Major Dhyan Chand hockey stadium in New Delhi. Jay Prakash Patel scored the match-winning goal for the SAIL Hockey Academy (SHA) in the final match of Aga Khan Gold Cup which is one of the oldest hockey tournament in the country. The SHA team defeated Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy by 4-2 in the semifinals. SAIL Hockey Academy is run by SAIL's Rourkela Steel Plant.

The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be the seventh ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. It is scheduled to be held in Australia between 21 February and 8 March 2020.The final will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on International Women's Day.

The 24 year old World champion Manipuri weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu notched up gold at EGAT Cup in Chiang Mai city, Thailand. Mirabai Chanu has won 48 kg category Gold with effort of 192 kg in the silver level Olympic qualifying event for 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

India returned with 368 medals (85 gold, 154 Silver, and 129 Bronze) at the Special Olympics World Summer Games, held at Abu Dhabi, UAE. Indian powerlifters bagged the maximum number of medals 20 gold, 33 silver and 43 bronze. Roller Skating earned India 49 medals 13 gold, 20 silver and 16 bronze. In cycling, the Indians won 11 gold, 14 silver and 20 bronze to total 45 medals, while the country's track and field athletes returned with 39 medals 5 gold, 24 silver and 10 bronze.
