World Down Syndrome Day 2019 focuses on;

On 9th April 2019, 54th Valour Day of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was observed to Pay Tribute to Martyrs of police at the National Police Memorial in New Delhi. On this day, President Ram Nath Kovind launched Veer Parivar App for assistance to the next of kin of the CRPF martyrs.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has officially celebrated the first-ever International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace on 24th April 2019 for the international observance. The day is a reaffirmation of the UN Charter and its principles of resolving disputes among countries through peaceful means. It acknowledges the use of multilateral decision-making and diplomacy in achieving peaceful resolutions to conflicts among nations.

Fifth global road safety week is being celebrated between May 06 to 12, 2019. Theme for this year is -"Leadership for road safety". United Nation believes that global goals can be achieved only if precious life is safe. To make it sure, UN has launched action through the ongoing campaign: Save Lives #SpeakUp. World Health Organisation (WHO) has released a report during road safety week. This report highlights that road accidents are the major concern for death among people age group between 5 to 29 years. Report also indicates that 1.35 million people die each year due to road accidents worldwide.

The National Panchayati Raj Day is celebrated every year in India on 24th April. The Constitution of India recognizes Panchayats as 'Institutions of self-government'. This day marks the passing of Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 that came into force with effect from 24 April 1993. The Amendment Act permits states to take steps to organize village panchayats and provide them with necessary powers and authority necessary to facilitate them to function as units of self-government. The first National Panchayati Raj Day was celebrated in 2010. The enactment of the 73rd Amendment Act had led a defining moment in the history of India which helped in the decentralization of political power to the grassroots level. In turn, it had led to the institutionalization of Panchayati Raj (PR) through the village, Intermediate and District level Panchayats.

The World Intellectual Property Day was observed across the world on April 26, 2019 to spread awareness about the role that intellectual property rights like patents, trademarks, industrial designs and copyright play in encouraging innovation and creativity. The theme of World Intellectual Property Day 2019 was "Reach for Gold: IP and Sports".

International Midwives Day 2019 is celebrated on May 5th every year. The theme for this year's celebration was "Midwives: Defenders of Women's Rights". First International Day of the Midwife (IDM) was celebrated on 5th of May in the year 1991 using the theme "Towards safe birth for all by the year 2000". It is celebrated as a day to honor the midwives for their big contribution towards the health of the people across the nations. The main event was hosted by WHO Chief Nursing Officer and Taskforce on Nursing and Midwifery. The event was inaugurated by the WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. The event also saw the launch of the original play "Born in the Ruins" which showcased the work of midwives and nurses in conflict and emergency setting anywhere in the world.

World Poetry Day observed on 21st March 2019 to encourage the reading, writing, and teaching of poetry throughout the world. In the year 1999 during its 30th General Conference in Paris, The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) adopted this day to support linguistic diversity and to safeguard endangered languages.

84th Establishment Day of RBI is 1st April 2019. The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935, in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The bank was established on the recommendation of the Hilton Young Commission. The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Calcutta but was permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated. Though originally privately owned, since nationalisation in 1949, the Reserve Bank is fully owned by the Government of India. The Reserve Bank's affairs are governed by a central board of directors. The board is appointed by the Government of India in keeping with the Reserve Bank of India Act.

In 1982, ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) established 18 April as the International Day for Monuments and Sites. UNESCO approved it the following year during its 22nd General Conference. The theme for International Day for Monuments and Sites 2019 is 'Rural Landscapes'.

German pianist Nils Frahm declared the 88th day of a year(29th March) as the World Piano Day, as modern standard pianos have 88 keys. It has been celebrated in dozens of cities around the world over the past years. Many people were attracted towards the van by the piano's beautiful melodies, taking photos and cheering for the performers, Xinhua news agency reported. Launched by Universal Music Group, an American global music corporation, the event also celebrated the global release of Chinese pianist Lang Lang's new album Piano Book, a collection of pieces he has loved and played since childhood.
