Ola has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana to support the latter's efforts in strengthening traffic infrastructure in the city. The partnership would see Ola 'share intelligent insights' that enable the Government to implement smart solutions to enhance 'mobility experience' in the city, an Ola release stated. The first pilot project proposed to be implemented under the MoU is the dynamic mapping of riding quality of various major roads in Hyderabad through the network of vehicles operating on the Ola platform.

Delhi government school teacher, Manu Gulati honored with the Martha Farrell award for Excellence in Women's Empowerment 2019 in the Most Promising Individual category with prize money of INR 1,50,000 for promoting gender quality and women's empowerment. Mizoram assembly passed a bill to bring back total prohibition of liquor in the northeastern state after four years. The state government decided to prohibit the manufacture, import, sale, and consumption of liquor for the common people for their general health. Earlier total prohibition was in force in Mizoram from 1997 to 2015.

The Centre banned Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir under the Unlawful Activities (Preventions) Act, 1967 for 5 years. It was made on the grounds that they were 'in close touch' with militant outfits and is expected to 'escalate secessionist movement' in the State. Rice Knowledge Bank-Assam, which is an agriculture web portal is dedicated to magnify knowledge on rice production technologies and techniques, best production practices and state agriculture facts, was launched under World Bank funded project - Agri-business and Rural Transformation (APART). This portal is the repercussion of efforts of Assam Rural Infrastructure and Agricultural Services Society, Assam Agricultural University with technical assistance from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). The motive behind this is to curtail the gap between research and on-field rice production practices for small-scale farmers in Assam.

Karnataka government issued a circular, following the order of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, directing all schools in the state, including government, aided and unaided institutions, to limit the weight of a schoolbag which is not more than 10% of the child's weight. The weight of a bag of a student in Class 1 or 2 should not be more than 2 kg and these students should not be given any homework. For the students from Class 3 to 5, it can weigh between 2 and 3 kg. The weight increases accordingly, with the students of Class 9 and 10 are allowed to carry bags of weight 4-5kg. The third Saturday of every month should be followed as "No School Bag Day". Teachers are required to keep the students busy without any books or supplementary materials and indulge in activities like field visits, general knowledge clubs, art classes, indoor and outdoor games, abacus, dance classes and debates.

A water conservation scheme 'Jal Amrutha' was launched by Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, in Bengaluru. For the purpose of inauguration of the scheme, a function was organized by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department at Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan in Bengaluru. The scheme plans to make people aware about the importance of conserving water and to prompt them to come up with ways to avoid wastage of water. The scheme will involve undertaking scientific approaches such as water budgeting, water harvesting and water conservation through the use of geospatial data, satellite imagery, topographical and geological data. It is going to be a community-initiative, and will be undertaken by important government departments, Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and private sector institutions. Amd 2019 has been declared as 'Jalavarsha (year of water)'.

Aprogramme organized at Mon (Nagaland) during the Aoleang Monyu festival (usually held between 1st April to 3rd April every year) around 5000 Konyak Naga women in their traditional attire attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the 'Largest Traditional Konyak Dance'. The festival is celebrated for the arrival of Spring and for a good upcoming harvest. The theme of the Aoleang Monyu festival aka Mini Hornbill festival was 'Empowering women for cultural heritage'. Konyak Union in coordination with other organisations of the tribe, namely, Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK) and Konyak Students' Union (KSU) organized the event.
