  • Question
  • 0 divided by 0

  • Options
  • A. 0
  • B. 1
  • C. Undefined
  • D. Indeterminate

  • Correct Answer
  • Indeterminate

    Explanation

Indeterminate are those, which mathematics can?t determine.

Because we don?t actually know which one is the exact answer for this due to having lots of results for this.

    Explanation::

        • Let us think by this analogy that,

    0 / 1 = 0

    0 / 2 = 0

    ????

    ???..

    we can say 0 / n = 0 from this we can write, 0/0 = 0

        • Again, another analogy,(from limiting concept of 1/0 = infinity)

    1 / 0 = +? or -?

    2 /0 = +? or -?

    ???

    .??.

    we can say 0 / 0 = ?

        • Again, another analogy,

    1 / 1 = 1

    2/2 = 1

    .??..

    ???..

    we can say, 0/0 = 1

Now, you see it?s confusing. Every analog is mathematically correct then which one is the right answer for 0/0.  Therefore Mathematics can?t determine this fact.

    So, 0/0 is indeterminate.

For example, if she placed the key ?3? in the place of the key ?7?, she placed the key ?7? only in the place of the key ?3? and not any other key. All keys that were interchanged corresponded only to numbers. Later, she input some calculations and obtained outputs as provided in the table below. The input is shown in terms of the keys that Kavitapressed, while the output is the output displayed by the calculator.
