    Explanation

    As per the given above question , we can say that
    Five friends A,B,C, D and E are standing in a row facing south but not necessarily in the same order. Only B is between A and E. It means that the position of B may be 2nd or 3rd.
    C is immediate right to E.
    and D is immediate left to A. It means that the position of D may be left end.
    As all are facing south.......................... so the arrangement will be as below figure.
    From above statements and below figure, it is clear that D is third to the left of E .
