Hence, India has won most number of medals in 2012 Rio Olympics.
The first Indian woman to ever win an Olympic medal for India was Karnam Malleswari who won a bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics 2000 in the Women's 69 kg category in Weightlifting.
Karnam Malleswari is a retired Indian weightlifter. In 1995 she received the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India's highest sporting honour, and in 1999 the civilian Padma Shri award.
After that Indian women who won Olymic medals to India was :
1. Mary Kom at the London 2012 Summer Olympics won bronze medal in women's boxing.
2. Saina Nehwal was the first Indian to win a medal in Badminton at the Olympics, by winning the Bronze medal at the London Olympics 2012.
3. Sakshi Malik became the first Indian woman to win a medal in Wrestling. She won the Bronze medal in Women's 58 kg freestyle wrestling in 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio.
4. P.V. Sindhu became the first ever Indian woman to win the Silver medal at the Olympics, by reaching the Badminton final at Rio Olympics 2016.
Brooks Koepka shot a final round 68 for 281 (+1) to win his second straight U.S. Open, one stroke ahead of runner-up Tommy Fleetwood, who closed with the sixth round of 63 in U.S. Open history.
Neeraj Chopra is associated with the Sports of Javelin throw. Indian, Neeraj Chopra won a gold medal in the Savo Games in Lapinlahti, Finland. He made a throw of 85.69 metres and won the gold medal.
Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes won the Hungarian Grand Prix for the 6th time, at the Hungaroring circuit, in Hungary.
This is the 67th career victory for Lewis Hamilton.
