A computer software are of two types. They are :
1. System software
2. Application software
Systems software includes the operating system and all the utilities that enable the computer to function.
Application software includes programs that do real work for users.
Hence, Operating system is an example of system software.

DPI [Dots Per Inch] is a measurement of output quality of printer resolution. It represents number of ink dots the printer can place in an area of one square inch. The lesser the DPI the less sharper the image and vice versa.
Therefore, a printer that may have 400 DPI, a printer that can print 400 x 400 per square inch or 1,60,000 dots per inch.

Protecting data by copying it from the original source to a different destination is called as Backup. When an original data is lossed, to restore the information by copying the data from the source to other destination is called as Backup or Data backup.

The Arithmetic and logical unit of the CPU performs the arithmetic operations or mathematical calculations.
