The plant growth regulators are small, simple molecules of diversechemical composition. They can be in form of indole compounds, adenine derivatives, carotenoids derivatives, terpenes or gases like ethyleneetc. The plant growth regulators are bifurcated into two groups according to their functions in a living plant body.First group of plant growth regulators are found in growth activities, for instance, cell division, flowering, fruiting and seed formation. The second group of Plant growth regulators are involved in plant responses to wounds and stresses of biotic and abiotic origin.

Syngamy, also known as fertilisation occurs between the male and female gametes. Syngamy may occur either externally, outside the body of organisms or internally, inside the body. Syngamy leads to formation of a specialised cell called diploid zygote.
Generally viruses that infect plants have single stranded RNA. Viruses infecting animals have double stranded RNA or DNA. Viruses which infect bacteria have double stranded DNA.
The two DNA strands are called polynucleotidesbecause they are composed of simpler monomer units called nucleotides. Eachnucleotideis composed of one of four nitrogen-containingnucleobases (cytosine, guanine, adenine or thymine), a sugar called deoxyribose, and a phosphate group.
