The Dhanush is a 155 mm towed howitzer used by the Indian Army.The gun has been developed by the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Kolkata, after going through design documents running into over 12,000 pages. May 23, 2016 ISRO successfully flight-tested India?s first winged body aerospace vehicle operating in hypersonic flight regime. In this experimental mission, the HS9 solid rocket booster carrying RLV-TD lifted off from the First Launch Pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikotaat 07:00 hr IST. After a successful flight of 91.1second, HS9 burn out occurred, following which both HS9 and RLV-TD mounted on its top coasted to a height of about 56 km. At that height, RLV-TD separated from HS9 booster and further ascended to a heightof about 65 km.
CSE in its recommendation asked Indian regulator FSSAI to act immediately and ban the two chemicals.
It says that Indian bread manufacturer? use two chemicals, banned in many countries but not in India, being used by bread industry are potassium bromate (KbrO3) and potassium iodate (KIO3).
The government (FSSAI) banned the use of potassium bromate as a food additive on the basis of the above recommendation.
The regulator had recommended to the health ministry removal of potassium bromate from the list of permissible food additives after a study by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
